Inveran Reel
This is a slight variant on the mirror reel where the first couple cross at both ends. The description below is delibrately terse, describing only the differences between a standard reel of three and the inveran reel. For full details of the standard reel of three, see here.
| Start | First couple face down and in; Second couple up and out; Third couple up and in. |
| 1-4 | First couple cross (lady in front of man) to start a half reel of three on the opposite side. |
| 5-8 | First couple cross back to their own side (lady in front of man) to start a half reel on their own side, back to places. |
N.B. The exact finishing position may differ (especially the way in which each person is facing) depending upon the dance.
