Dance Figures
The Knot
This is a bit like a reversed Allemande, crossing into and out of it. Like an Allemande, the couples (usually two or three) perform the manoeuvre separately and end up in reversed order.
Start | Face the person opposite (usually your partner). |
1-2 | Man and lady cross right hand into Allemande hold facing down. |
3-4 | Promenade down. |
5-6 | Turn and promenade up the ladies' side. |
7 | Release right hand but retain left hand; lady crosses to man's side. |
8 | Still retaining left hand, cross back to place. |
